Home again, home again, dancing a jig
Sunday, January 31st, 2010With the ever-increasing demands on my time, and my desire to integrate my web-fragmented life all in one place, and the fact that I haven’t redesigned my site in almost three years, and a rainy Saturday leading to a cold cold Sunday, I’ve redesigned. This time I used WordPress. Looks like my moving on from web development and coding is pretty much complete!
I’ve got to say I love WordPress. What was causing problems was the never ending “well I updated one thing, now I’ve got to code it in or go to multiple places to update everything else.” Now I’ve more or less got that automated thanks to WP and the fabulousness of plugin developers, with a Flickr gallery and YouTube playlist integrated into the site. My Tumblog feeds into the right rail and aggregates tweets, Flickr posts, and everything else.
All of that, in turn, feeds into my personal life and projects. So it’s not that I’m no longer a photographer, but I’m that and much more. Here’s the place where I’ll put it all.Plus 2007 is like a million years ago in Internet time and a new look is way past due!
Now all I need is to relearn how to write in more than 140 characters at a time. And while I’m satisfied enough to launch, there is still lots of work to do here. The sun has come out though and this seems a good enough place to stop.
