I’ve been asked to judge another photo contest, this time by Amanda Brown of the Artist Trifecta gallery in Castleberry Hill. I enjoyed being the juror for the invitational photography competition at Carolina Gallery in July and am just tickled that someone else has asked me. If there’s one thing I have opinions on, it’s photography. Luckily I also have opinions on lots of other things, so if you need a decision made, just let me know.

Below are two more interviews I did for Art Relish from ATHICA’s “Mission Accomplished” show. Turns out Jimbo Buonaccorsi was a sculpture professor of the best man at my wedding, and back in college I dated one of the board members. Athens is for sure a winner in the small world category.

People always ask about what I use to produce these and that will have to be my next post.

At ATHICA with Lizzie Zucker Saltz

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Last weekend we went up to Athens, where I had the chance to speak with Athens Institute for Contemporary Art president and artistic director Lizzie Zucker Saltz about the genesis of ATHICA, its mission and their current show, “Mission Accomplished” for Art Relish.

I’m pretty happy with the quality of this video. Seems like I get it a little more right with each interview, and I do enjoy making progress. Also, not bad for a one man operation. The new computer makes working with video SO MUCH EASIER. I had pretty much stopped just because 2MB of RAM makes video editing an exercise in frustration. Now it’s a … well, it takes a lot less time and headaches to get something quality out of the machine. Whew.
